Once after download the Universal DreamUp utility, launch it with both PC and Dreambox decoder connected and you are ready to go. First, go to select the correct Com port on the utility screen (corresponding to the one used on your PC). Remember to not tick the ‘Use Network’ and leave all the Local IP/ Remote IP empty. How to Install a DVD/CD Drive on a Dell Computer
If your Dell computer shipped with only a CD-ROM drive, you can upgrade that drive to a CD and DVD writer for less than $100. Installing a CD or DVD reader or writer in your computer is not difficult, and you can do it in a matter of minutes

Turn off your computer and remove the power cord from the back of the unit. Let the PC sit for a few minutes to make sure that all the electricity has been discharged.

Remove the case from your Dell PC. The exact case removal procedures vary from model to model, so it is a good idea to consult your user's manual if you have one available. For computers that are designed to sit horizontally on a flat surface, the case release lever is probably located on the top of the unit. For tower style computers the release lever for the case is probably located on the side.

Pull the case release lever to loosen the cover, then pull the cover away from the case and set it aside.

Locate the drive bay for the CD or DVD drive. If the computer currently has a CD or DVD drive, look for the connections that run from that drive to the motherboard of the PC, then carefully unhook the flat gray IDE cable and the small white power cable from the back of the existing unit. Then use your screwdriver to remove the screws that hold the existing CD or DVD drive in place and slide it out of the drive bay.
If the computer does not currently have a CD or DVD drive installed, look in the computer case for a flat gray cable with a white connector on it--this is the IDE ribbon cable. One end of this gray cable will be attached to the hard drive and the other end will be attached to the computer's motherboard. Locate the extra connector in the middle of the cable--this will be attached to the new CD or DVD drive.

Attach the flat IDE connection and the small white power cable to the CD or DVD drive. The power cable is a small white connector with four holes designed to fit over the prongs on the back of the CD or DVD drive, while the IDE cable is a flat gray ribbon with a large white connector designed to fit into the slot on the back of the drive.

Slide the CD or DVD drive into the slot on the computer. In most cases the slot for the drive will located right underneath the hard drive. Once the drive is in place secure it with the screws that came with the drive, then replace the case cover and turn your PC on.

How Do DVD Drives Work?
Disc Tray
The actual physical operation of a DVD drive is fairly straightforward. Once the user has placed a DVD securely inside the disc tray with the data side facing down and the tray itself closed, the disc begins to spin. While this is going on, the drive's laser (which is used for accessing data and transferring it to your computer) points in one specific direction. The reason the disc spins so quickly is so that the laser can access all parts of the disc at once, thereby allowing minimal delay between attempting to access a file and the file actually being opened by your computer.

The data itself is stored on a circular "track" that goes around the DVD the way grooves do on a vinyl record. All DVD drives can access discs with one layer of data. Drives produced prior to 2003 may have a problem reading and writing to discs with two layers of data. This is due to the fact that the standard specifications of a DVD drive's laser have changed over the years as technology has advanced. Newer DVD drives don't have this problem.

Check the "Use Custom MTKFlash" button on the program. Select the name of your hard drive controller from the list provided below the check box. Check the "M28 Bad Flash Compatibility" and "Apply Boke's patch for MS28 drives" check boxes.

Click on the "Target Drive" button. Select the icon of the USB flash drive in the window that appears. Click on the "Make bootable" check box. Click on the "Prepare Drive" button. Quit the program when the "Done" confirmation window appears. Turn off the computer.

Turn on the Xbox 360. Turn on the computer and wait for DOS to boot from the USB flash drive. Enter the following into the text window when the screen comes up: "mtkflash r /m /sata orig_bin." Press the "Enter" key.

Turn off the Xbox 360. Select "Xtreme primary" from the list presented on the computer screen using the arrow keys. Press "Enter."
Count 10 seconds and then turn on the Xbox 360. Turn the Xbox 360 off when a screen prompt appears that says this. Unplug the ribbon connector from the Hitachi DVD drive.

Remove the USB flash drive and reboot the computer. Drag the "orig.bin" file that is now on the desktop into the folder that was decompressed from the "Xtreme 5.2 firmware."

Double-click on the icon of the 360 hard drive firmware toolbox to launch it. Drag the ""Xtreme 5.2 firmware" file from out of the folder and onto the icon of the 360 hard drive firmware toolbox.

Enter "make extreme firmware" (without the quotes) in the text column of the 360 hard drive firmware toolbox. Press "Enter." Use the arrow keys to select "A" from the list presented. Press "Enter." Select "Default" from the list presented. Press "Enter."

Turn on your television and FTA receiver. Press the menu button on your receiver's remote control. Use the "Channel" buttons on your remote control to navigate down to the "System Information/Settings" option, and then select it.

Navigate down to the "Update USB" option and select it. Browse for the extracted firmware files on the USB JumpDrive, select them and then click "Load" to load the file onto your receiver.
